School Systems and Resale

When buyers are looking for a new home, the school system for the location of their choice tends to have a large impact on the value and potential resale of the selected property. If you already have children, the school system should be at the top of your priority list. Make sure that you do the proper research before selecting a home. If you do not have children, be sure to think about local schools at some point, since they will affect your resale value in the future. Try not to get set on one particular school system. Instead, pick a few school systems, and determine how they compete in test scores and teacher-to-student class-size ratios. If the school district is rapidly growing and needs to build more buildings, find out how this will affect property taxes. Last, if you are selling your home and you live in a town with a competitive school system, share that information!
