Home builder confidence continues to drop according to a
recent study by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The Housing Market Index (HMI) index has now plummeted to the lowest level since 1991.
With the lagging market and slow down of new home construction, builders are being forced to drop prices and find creative ways to lure in potential buyer as was noted by NAHB Chief Economist David Seiders "builders are actively trimming prices and offering buyer incentives to work down their inventories, but meanwhile there is a large supply of vacant existing homes on the market, and affordability problems persist despite efforts to attract buyers."
"In spite of these challenges, we expect to see home sales get back on an upward path late this year and we expect housing starts to begin a gradual recovery process by early next year. At that point, this market will be operating well below its long-term potential, providing plenty of room to grow in 2008 and beyond."
So if you're considering a new construction, keep your eyes open for enticing builder incentives (cash back, swimming pool, etc.) and home upgrades (appliances, flooring, fixtures, etc.).

According to the annual Morgan Quitno Press State Rankings for 2006, New Hampshire ranks #1 for the Most Livable State. Scott Morgan, President of Morgan Quitno Press, stated that “Citizens of New Hampshire enjoy low unemployment, low crime rates, high levels of household income and high levels of education. The state has a stellar record in many of the categories we considered for our award.”
Others in the top 5 spot include Minnesota, Iowa, Vermont and New Jersey.
The rankings are based on a criteria of 44 metrics that include economic, educational, health, public safety and environmental factors.

Namazi joins the group with a background in interior design and remodeling as the proprietor of an interior design business based in Hingham, MA. She will focus on residential sales in Boston's south shore communities.
Miracle, a MBA graduate from Bentley University, joins the company with previous marketing experience working for a commercial real estate company. She resides in Waltham, Massachusetts and will focus on residential sales in the Mass metro west communities.

Forget chocolates and flowers. Celebrity photographer, Jasin Boland, raised the bar on Valentine's Day gifts by suprising his soon-to-be wife (Maria Moral Peña) with a 4 bedroom luxury house in Gloucestershire, UK. Not only did he drop half a million pounds on the house, but he also flew her in via helicopter to get a bird's eye view of the property. Watch the
